Distribution of Food Baskets

 

All year long "Food for Life" associations and volunteers, and team members are working to help and support people in need. At Food for Life NPO, a huge and amazing network works for the benefit of the individual and society under our slogan “To each hungry heart with all our hearts.”

 

The families and people in need are referred to us by social services in the various cities, and the social welfare coordinators of Food for Life are in constant contact with the social workers and receive ongoing updates regarding their condition and needs. Also, the association receives direct requests for help and answer after making sure our aid is really needed.

 

Each family receives a food basket based on its size and special needs, which include all the basic major food groups. Food for Life volunteers come to the apartments of the families and fill their fridges and cupboards with good things and, when needed, help in other ways. The impact of volunteering is great because over and above the fact that food saves lives, the family gets a listening ear and a warm, sensitive and supportive heart from its volunteers. We’d like to take this opportunity to invite you to join the volunteers on distribution days and to take part in this important activity. With your help, the association is also active in other areas such as: Adopting lone soldiers, helping kids at risk by running dormitory-style frameworks for pre-army teenagers, classes and fun days for single mothers, distributing sandwiches at schools, distributing clothes and shoes, games, electrical appliances and furniture to families in need, providing assistance for hospital patients and their families, supporting other organizations and helping others in other areas according to changing needs.

 

Warm Houses

 

At the beginning of 2014, a “Warm House” was opened in Haifa, which provides hot, healthy, family meals for the elderly, needed and such. Most elderlies are alone, they get to sit and enjoy the company of other senior's presence as well as, the association's volunteers.   

 

 

 

The Food for Life organization provides hope and light for hungry children and families who have lost their joy. It provides support for many families throughout their difficult times until they can support themselves with a special emphasis on the hungry children, the elderly population and Holocaust survivors.

 

These activities put the association at the forefront among those who helping the hungry and needy by distributing food baskets.
